How our patio heaters work:

Electric carbon fibre short wave patio heaters produce radiant heat like the sun, (without harmful UV) warming people and objects and not the air in between, producing the only form of heat that will not blow away. This makes them ideal for any draughty areas like workshops, warehouses, pubs, clubs, restaurants, in fact anywhere that requires targeted heating both inside and out.

Slim Aerodynamic Construction - doesn't blow over like gas heaters!

The ultra slimline design is manufactured from3.5mm extruded Aluminium which is car painted in heavy duty weather resistant paint (UV Protected for outdoor use). All other parts are either aluminium or stainless steel to further enhance the longevity and weather beating properties of the unit. We recommend using the cover (which is included in the box) and storing is a secure dry location for long periods of inactivity.

3.5mm Extruded Aluminium Construction - never rusts!

60/60 Aluminium extrusion is the top grade produced in UK- it is lightweight and very durable with tremendous anti-corrosion properties. In fact 98% of all Aluminium ever produced is still in existence! Therefore, our Chillchaser® heaters can be 90% recycled at the end of their lives.

Energy Saving lights - no need for mega floodlights!

Some models have a high lumen energy saving 25W CFL lamp as standard (options also available; 15W). Lamp life approximately 5-6000 hours; over 4 years life expectancy at an average of 5 hours per day operation. LED lamps will be introduced on-going in 2012/13.

Low Running Costs 33p/hour - compare £4.50/hour for gas heaters

In full maximum heat operation ChillChaser® units draw up to 3Kw of power per hour. Because they only heat people and not the air they are not affected by the wind. Efficient power-heat conversion of 95%. Average UK electricity costs are approximately £0.11 per Kw/hour, giving the unit an approximate running cost of £0.33 per hour when in full operation (both heating tubes plus light). However, when using the PIR economy button this is further reduced hence reducing the energy costs even further. Compare this running cost against the cost of frequently replacing gas cylinders in your area = £4.50/hr.? What is the cost saving? = £4.17 every hour of use.
What is the reduction in Carbon Emissions? = at least 70%

PIR economy feature - Reducing the energy costs even further!

A (2-time-settings) PIR (Passive Infrared) economy feature automatically turns off the heater when there is no movement / any person in front of the unit from 30secs-4 minutes. The unit will automatically switch back on when it detects movement / a person in its vicinity. This obviously saves considerable energy and money. It also frees up the owner to carry on without worrying about the wasted energy.

Masterlock^TM Safety feature - No tampering by Children or public!

This function disables the main unit control panel to render it inoperable / tamper proof. In operation the unit is then managed by the remote control only.

"Full Function" remote control that pops easily into the rear handle of the unit for safekeeping.

Carbon fibre technology is derived from the technology used in hospitals to treat circulation disorders and skin complaints. It has been proven to be the most natural, versatile and healthy form of heat. Far Infra-Red heat combines to maintain body vitality and increase metabolic functions without any detrimental effects. Wavelengths of 0.8 to1.4 microns are the optimum energy wavelengths absorbed by the human body making Carbon fibre the ideal heating medium for indoor and outdoor heating....the heat rays developed by the carbon fibre tubes provide infrared heat which heats people. These tubes DO NOT HEAT THE AIR!
Tube life extends to approximately 6000 - 8000 hours; over 4 years life at an average of 5 hours per day operation.

Weather-proofed - IPX5 rating means "OK to leave outside"!

These units has patented weather proof fittings that have enable the award of an IPX5 rating, which means that it is produced to be left outside and will not be effected by weather conditions, specifically water ingress. The heating tubes are installed in such a manner that they can take direct exposure to water, beer or even flammable liquids like whisky or Vodka!
Recommended operating temperatures have been tested from -20°C in Moscow to +25°C, although our heaters will automatically cut off at 25degC to save wasting energy.

Effective Heating Area - Head to Toe People heater NOT the Air!

The effective heating area of one unit is approximately 24m (5m radius from the unit at a heating angle of 110 degrees); the intensity of the heat is obviously greater the closer you are to the heat source / unit. Looks spectacular at night with that "bonfire red glow" without the smoke and pollution!
Safety Features- Easy to insure for public Liability Insurance!
Safety tip-over switch built in to the unit, which cuts all power if the unit is knocked accidentally. No naked flames that can ignite chemicals or flammable liquid such as whisky. Won't light cigarettes!
Chillchaser® Heaters have a corrosion resistant Protective Zinconium grille for safety, which whilst it does get warm in operation, will not burn on contact, due to the way in which the carbon fibre tubes produce their effective heat output.
Chillchaser® Heaters are also fitted with an Auto-Reset Thermal Fuse which shuts down the unit in an overheat situation.

Zeus, Neptune, Mercury, Hercules, Titan, Jupiter & Artemis heaters lower Carbon emissions by at least 70% compared to a gas heater and are now available as a carbon offset heater at a cost of:
£10.00 per year for 1000 hours commercial use.

The unit is under warranty for 2 years under normal domestic using conditions & 1 year for Commercial applications. Full legislative testing procedures have been undertaken and awarded; CE, GS, ETL, IP, RoHS.... copy certification available on request.
